Amy Marie Solomon

Amy Marie Solomon was born in Bexar, Texas, while her Father was in the Air Force. She passed away peacefully June 2nd, 2026 at home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Attorney Edward Solomon Jr. and Mildred (Christoff) Solomon. A proud graduate of Penn State University, Amy dedicated much of her life to education and inspiring others through her work as a long time English teacher at Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg. She had a love of literature, learning, and helping students find confidence in themselves. Amy had a compassionate heart and a special passion for caring for animals and all living creatures. She befriended many strays over her lifetime. She also shared a special bond with her Father through their love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sundays spent cheering on the Steelers together became cherished memories. Amy touched the lives of many family members, friends, students, and colleagues, throughout her life. She will be remembered fondly and missed greatly. A visitation will be held on Friday June 19th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, Amy requests donations to an animal shelter of your choosing in her memory.
