Anna Marie Westrick Obituary

Anna Marie “Sissy” Westrick (91) passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1934, to Francis and Mae Fox of Ebensburg.

Sissy was the last surviving member of her family, having been preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Peter, John, Edward, William, Clair, Richard, and Donald; and her sisters, Helen Bracken, Irene White, Frances Shura, and Sister Mary Urban Fox, RSM. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Westrick, and son-in-law, Donald Weber.

Sissy was married to Bernard T. Westrick (“Bernie”) for nearly 50 years before his passing in March 2007.

She is survived by her five children: Beth Weber of Pittsburgh; Lisa Surkovich (Tim) of Hollidaysburg; David Westrick (Chris) of Pittsburgh; Mark Westrick (Lori) of Sanford, North Carolina; and Paula DeWitt (Tim) of Annapolis, Maryland. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. Sissy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and “Gom,” finding her greatest joy in caring for her family.

A lifelong Roman Catholic, Sissy was a faithful and devoted volunteer at her church. Over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, an “adopted grandmother” assisting school children during lunch, a parish festival volunteer, and a member of the funeral reception committee. She deeply loved her faith and Holy Name Parish, where she attended Mass throughout her life.

Sissy lived at St. Benedict Manor for the past two years.  The family is extremely grateful for the care she received during this time.

At Sissy’s request, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 500 N. Julian Street, Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, with Father Brian Warchola officiating and her son, Deacon Mark Westrick, assisting. Inurnment at Holy Name Cemetery will follow the Mass with a reception at Amici’s afterwards.  The family will greet friends and family 45 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Holy Name Catholic Church Angel Fund.
