Charles G. Voyda, Ebensburg, Age 83. Died August 8, 2023, at Conemaugh Hospital. Born April 22, 1940, in Sharon, Pa. Son of Charles and Anna (Ocenas) Voyda. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Shirley Grow and Betty Mortimer. Survived by children, Stephanie Voyda; Jason Voyda and fiancée Sherri Rekich; Jeffrey Voyda (Kristie); and Megan (Michael) Polinsky. Grandchildren, Logan, Jackson, Max, and Maggie Voyda and Sadie Polinsky. Brother, Robert Voyda, and long-time friend and companion, Vivian Keilman. Chuck was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the Engineer BN in Germany; a life member of VFW Post 4963 and a member of American Legion Post 363; and a life member of Dauntless Fire Company. Retired from the Ebensburg Borough Public Works Dept., Chuck was a self-taught, talented artist and craftsman and an avid reader. He also loved nature and the outdoors. At Chuck’s request, there will be no public visitation. A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg, with the VFW and American Legion Veteran Services. Friends will be received immediately following the service for a celebration of Chuck’s life at the Ebensburg VFW. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dauntless Fire Company Ebensburg in Chuck’s memory. Funeral arrangements by the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
