Cletus W. Illig (Clete, ), Age 91. Hollidaysburg formerly of Ebensburg. Born August 2, 1932. Died August 25,2023 at the Presbyterian Village of Hollidaysburg. Clete, 91, He was born on the family farm in Cambria Township, Pa., son of Vincent and Marie (Frank) Illig. Clete is survived by his wife, Helen (Hrapchak), with whom he recently celebrated 71 years of marriage, daughters Sue Roles (Norman) and Lorie Hamill (Bob), and sons Mike (Tina Melnyk) and Jeff (Carin Charters). Grand children Greg (Katy), Ben (Kara), Jamie (Brysen), Kevin, Kristen (John), and David Illig; and Eric (Jodie), Matt, and Brian (Christy) Nagy. Great grandchildren Jack, Owen, Lilah, and Maisey Illig (Greg and Katy) and Eli, Ainslie and Beatrice Illig (Ben and Kara). Clete is also survived by four sisters: Grace Sedor (Lawrence), Jane Shero (Fred), Joanne Biller(Tucker),and Mary Hite (Regis), and three brothers-in-law Steve(Jean Krawcion), Joe(Deb), and George (Betty) Hrapchak. Also numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved granddaughter Jennifer Roles (Sue and Norm), brothers Clement, known as Bud, and Fred (Coletta), and sister Agnes Sunseri (Tom), and brothers-in-law Fred Shero and Regis Hite. Clete was employed at Louis Long Lumber for 17 years and retired as a lineman from Penelec, where he worked for over 35 years. He was known all around as the guy who could fix anything with an engine. He and Helen traveled all over the USA, square dancing for 25 years and enjoyed cruises to many places. After he retired from Penelec they spent seventeen winters in the Orlando area. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Presbyterian Village Healthcare for all the care. In accordance with Clete’s wishes there will be no viewing or service. Entombment was at the Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. Funeral arrangements by the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
