Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Knee

Elizabeth Ann “Betsy" Knee (nee Stevens) passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, in Tustin, California at the age of 95. She was born on February 6, 1929, in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Aunt Betsy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Howard Knee, II, and son, Kurt Edward Knee.  Aunt Betsy graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and dedicated her career to teaching at St. John's Parochial School in Monaca. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church.  Aunt Betsy and her late husband, Ed, shared a love for travel, exploring destinations like Mykonos, Barbados, Hong Kong, France, Bermuda, Argentina, Germany, and Chile. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, making jewelry, and taking art classes. Aunt Betsy was a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 20 years, an avid walker, a voracious reader of historical and political books, and an animal lover, caring for her beloved pets Fritzy, Nipper, and Oso. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at Holy Name Church, 500 N. Julian Street, Ebensburg, PA 15931. The Rev. Brian Warchola.  Interment, Holy Name Cemetery. Matevish Funeral Home in Ebensburg, PA, is assisting with the arrangements. Aunt Betsy's warm presence, kind heart, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
