Helen D. Smith, Ebensburg, Age 96. Died Oct. 24, 2024 at Maple Winds, Portage. Born March 22, 1928 in Jersey Shore PA. Daughter of John Henry and Ruth (Robison) Devlin. Preceded in death by parents, husband Garland H. Smith, brother Colonel John E. Devlin and sister Mary Catherine “Mimi” Devlin. Survived by children, Claudia (Daniel) Kane, Ebensburg; Marcia (Greg) Stager, Tyrone; Greg (Janice Bobby) Northern Cambria; and Dennis, Ebensburg. Grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin and Adam Stager all of Nashville, TN; Aaron Kane, Ebensburg; Gretchen Kane, Ebensburg; Allison (Andrew) Huggins, Zelienople. Great grandchildren, Rileigh Tibbott, Wellington, FL; Bryn Tibbott, Ebensburg; Claudia Huggins and Carter Huggins both of Pittsburgh. Great-great granddaughter, Nora Claire, Wellington, FL. We are profoundly grateful for the compassion Maple Winds and 1 Laurel Highlands Hospice showed to our mother, Helen, ensuring her final days were filled with warmth and dignity. At Helen’s request there will be no public visitation. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. till funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Church Narthex, Ebensburg, the Rev. Brian Warchola.
