Jean (Pisarcik) Kaelin

Jean Ann (Pisarcik) Kaelin, Colver, Age 81. Went home with the Lord on Aug. 19, 2024. Born ay 22, 1943 in Youngstown, OH to the late John and Ella (Semelsberger) Pisarcik. Upon graduating from Northern Cambria High School in 1961 Jean went to work as a secretary for the Federal Government in Washington, DC for 2 years. Jean then married William F. Kaelin of Utica, NY on Feb. 2, 1963 and they started a family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on May 17, 2014. Surviving are her 5 children: Regan (Cindy); William J.; Kelly;  Carrie; and Tracy; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her sweet pup Amber. Jean enjoyed cooking. Spending time with her friends and family, keeping house, gardening, singing, playing cards, working on her computer and telling stories of days gone by. She grew up on a farm where she learned how to outrun the rooster while collecting eggs, bring in the cows before a storm, and weed the huge garden without her mother seeing her grumble and fuss. Above aa, she learned hard work which prepared Jean er biggest task which was raising 5 children. She had beautiful salt and pepper hair to prove it, courtesy of her children. In 2020, with her family by her side, Jean began her final challenge, which was dementia For the past 2 years, Jean called Rebekah Manor of Northern Cambria her home. The wonderful staff there loved and cared for her like family. She loved to hide things and then give an impish smile which made everyone laugh. During the last few months of her life, Jean stayed at Beacon Ridge of Indiana, PA where the staff took wonderful care of her. Jean fought bravely and rarely complained. She was always happy to see visitors and would greet you with a smile. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Saturday 2p.m. till time of service at 6 p.m. at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg the Rev. Dave Huston. Internment Holy Family Cemetery, Colver.
