Joanne Marie Delaney, Ebensburg, formerly of Scranton, Age 90. Died Dec. 10, 2024 Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg.
Born April 12, 1934 in Pittston, PA, the daughter of John and Clare (Gallagher) Delaney. She was preceded in death by parents and brother John (Jack), and subsequently by brother Lawrence (March 1, 2025). Survived by special niece Eileen, wife of Kevin Curley, Hershey, and also survived by sisters-in-law Lynda (Podracky) Delaney married to John, York, and Maryann (Klezek) Delaney married to Lawrence, Fredericksburg, VA, four additional nieces and nephews, six grand nieces and nephews, and eleven great-grand nieces and nephews. Joanne retired from the State Workman’s Insurance Fund, Scranton.
Joanne was a loving daughter, and beloved sister and aunt to her family. She led an exemplary life by her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. Most importantly, Joanne was devout and faithful all her life to Christ, as well as having a special love for St. Theresa.
She was loved dearly and will always be remembered with love.
At Joanne’s request, there will be no public visitation. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. March 8, 2025 at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Brian Warchola, Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Name School Angel Fund in Joanne’s memory. Funeral arrangements by the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
