Louise "Granny" Sekerak

Lousie E (Shaner) “Granny” Sekerak. Age 92 of Ebensburg, passed away Mar. 23, 2025 at Maple Heights in Ebensburg, PA.  Born April 17, 1932.   Daughter of the late Russ and Peg (Barr) Shaner.   Preceded in death by husband Tom Sekerak and numerous aunts and uncles.   Survived by children Jeff (Sharon), T.R. (Fran), Curt (Brenda), Jody (Roger Mareck), Kevin, Jamie (Raquel).  Grandchildren:   Mick, Jeff, Tommy, Shannon, Cheyenne, Sonya, Kevin, Kellie, and Jamie.   Great Grandchildren: Kaylee, Sherry, Alec, Tristen, Avery, Max, Nolan, Zoey, and Trenton   Gret Great Grandchild: Nixon.   Louise was a Dallas Cowboys fan even though the rest of her family were Steelers fans. She loved her puzzle books, interacting with people, and spending time with her family.   She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church of Ebensburg, PA where she taught “CCD” lessons for several years.   She loved teaching her kids and they all called her “Ms. Lou”.   She was a former president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Ebensburg, PA.  A registered LPN and hospice volunteer.   She participated with the prayer group of Holy Name Parish.   She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.  Louise will be dearly missed, and she will remain eternally in our hearts and minds forever.  A special thank you to all the staff and residents on the third floor at Maple Heights.   And also thank you to Kim and Carly.   At mom’s request there will be no viewing.    There will be a brief service at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home Ebensburg, PA at the convenience of the family.  Interment Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
