Mark Vincent LaMantia, Ebensburg, Age 54. Passed away June 17, 2023 due to an airplane accident. Born November 24, 1968 in Johnstown. Son of Vincent and Delores (MacBlane) LaMantia Survived by parents, sister Jean LaMantia Kazimer of Pennsdale, PA, and many Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and many Friends. Mark graduated from Central Cambria High School n 1987 and St Francis College in 1995. He was the owner of the former Sears Appliance store in Ebensburg. After the store closed, he came to the Cresson Shop N Save to help his father Vince run the business. Mark received his pilot’s license in 1997. His instructor was Paul Rhoades. He received his Commercial license in 2002. He loved flying. He and his father flew to Ohio a week before the accident. Mark loved photography, especially black and white photos. Mark was an avid runner. He got up every morning early and ran and then he went to open the store in Cresson. He ran in the Turkey Trot held in Ebensburg every Thanksgiving. He also enjoyed Sky Diving. Though our son is no longer here his spirit will remain with us always. He was such a wonderful and loving son and brother. Friends will be received Wednesday from 10 a.m. till Mass time at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Church Narthex. The Rev. Brian Warchola. He will be laid to rest at the Holy Name Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dauntless Fire Company or Holy Name Church both of Ebensburg in Mark's memory.
