Bob was the most amazing and adored husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was husband to the love of his life Arlene for 56years, and father to Anthony (Leanne) Schweitzer, Amy (Tom) Rothenberger, Traci (Mike) McNeal, and Bruce (Dana) Schweitzer. He was called Grandpa by Erica, Rebecca, Caleb, Lyndsey, Molly, Josh, Ben, Emma, David, Daniel, and Amelia. Brother to Marilyn (Joseph) Noel, and Jack Schweitzer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred Schweitzer. Bob was an avid supporter of the woodlands he served and preserved from graduation from the University of Maine to serving for more than four decades in the United States Forest Service in Oregon and for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, including as District Forester of District 8 in Ebensburg. He was our very own Smokey Bear! He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, a Past Grand Knight, and a member of the Fourth Degree Honor Guard. He loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army. Additional organizations that benefited from his talents included the Cambria County Conservation District, the Pennsylvania Forest Fire Museum, the Society for American Foresters, Holy Name Church in Ebensburg, and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society Food Bank, among others. Dad was admired and respected by so many and his passing leaves a large hole in our hearts. Friends will be received Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Funeral Mass Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Rev Brian Warchola.
