Roy H. James, Colver. Age 94. Died Feb. 23, 2024 surrounded by loving family at home. Born March 25, 1929 in Detroit, Mich. Son of Merle and Thelma (Walker) James. Preceded in death by parents, first wife Dorothy (Luther) James, infant daughter Mary Margaret, brother Merle James Jr., sister Margaret McHenry, stepsons, Ward, Forrest and step grandsons Forrest Jr, and Robbie Cochran and son in law Jeffrey Younkin. Survived by wife Elsie (Rummel) James, children, Jeanne (Richard) Fleming; Thomas (Becky) James; Timothy (Candy) James; Mary (Robert) Moore; Douglas (Lynn) James; Betty (Joseph) Stoker; and John (Tina) James. Stepchildren; Paul (Jeanette) Cochran; Robert (Connie) Cochran; Joseph (Annette) Cochran; Leonard Cochran and Dawn Phillips; Jennifer (Patrick) Flora; Melanie Cochran; Thomas (NiNi) Cochran; Mitchell Cochran. 38 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Brother of Bruce R. James. Retired from C & I Railroad with 37 year’s service. Daily lector at Holy Family Church, Cursillo #68 in 1998. Former Fire Chief Colver Fire Dept., Charter member of Colver Development Corp. and was an avid golfer. Friends received Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
